Arts Council of Pointe Coupee

The Pointe Coupee Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the Pointe Coupee Arts Council as its June Business of the Month.  The Pointe Coupee Arts Council was chosen at random among a list of all Pointe Coupee Chamber members.

The Arts Council of Pointe Coupee is a 501c3 non-profit organization that obtains financial support to provide creative activities and opportunities to children and adults in our community through grants, Performing Arts Series season ticket sales, memberships, donations, and fundraising activities.

The Arts Council of Pointe Coupee offers several programs including the Performing Arts Series, Children’s Outreach, Learning Life Lessons, Senior Outreach, Treasures of Pointe Coupee, Glenn Morgan Scholarship, and Professional Jewell Teacher Grants.

Starting on May 31st through June 9th, the Arts Council will have several events, starting with Treasures of Pointe Coupee.  May 31st is the kickoff reception that will include an art exhibit opening paired with a silent auction.  This event is free and open to the public.    June 1st and 2nd will consist of an art exhibit, art market, treasure hunt and workshops, plus a chance to meet and talk to the artists. June 4th is Art for the Palate featuring Hot Tails sous chef, Owen Hohl.   This event will include cocktails and a shrimp & grits cooking demo. The art exhibit will continue to June 7th and the grand finale will be on June 8th with Performing Arts Series, Late Night Catechism, an interactive comedy with rave reviews.

This is the 10th year for Treasures of Pointe Coupee. Last year, Treasures of Pointe Coupee had 807 artists showcase 1, 241 pieces of their work from 8 different parishes.
