Anta Scaffolding has been selected to support part of the scaffolding works for Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport project. The China-based contractor is working within an underground structural package delivered by China Harbour Engineering Company. Its scope includes work connected to the baggage handling center and underground tunnel sections. The company has mobilized personnel, equipment and materials to the site as Phase I construction progresses.

Underground Construction Scope

China Harbour Engineering Company is delivering underground structural works for the airport’s Phase I expansion. Anta Scaffolding’s role is tied to the scaffolding needed for access, structural support and work sequencing within that package.

Lane Pan, representative at Anta Scaffolding, said:

“China Harbour Engineering is one of the main contractors delivering the underground structural works for this project, and we’re taking on part of the associated scaffolding works as a specialized contractor. Our project team is already mobilized. Personnel, equipment and materials are on site. This is the kind of project where you get to prove what your engineering experience is actually worth.”

Night Work During Summer

The work is taking place during Dubai’s summer, when outdoor temperatures regularly exceed 45°C. Project teams have shifted selected work into cooler evening and night hours while the UAE’s midday work ban applies to outdoor manual labor.

Lane Pan, representative at Anta Scaffolding, said:

“Our people are working alongside the rest of the project teams to hold the pace while dealing with a tough site environment. It takes coordination. Equipment on the ground is only half the job.”

Local Dubai Support

Anta Scaffolding’s Dubai office provides local communication, delivery coordination and after-sales response for UAE customers and project teams. The company says the office combines local coordination with access to its manufacturing and supply base in China.

A Major Infrastructure Reference

Al Maktoum International Airport is planned with five parallel runways, five terminal buildings and 400 boarding gates. Anta Scaffolding expects its work on the project to inform future work with contractors and infrastructure projects across the Middle East, South America and other markets.
