Kirby India Breaks Ground on Tamil Nadu Plant

Kirby India Tamil Nadu facility will add 100,000 metric tonnes of annual capacity and is expected to begin operations by mid-2027.

Kirby Building Systems & Structures India Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of Alghanim Industries, has broken ground on its fourth Indian manufacturing facility in Manapparai near Trichy, Tamil Nadu. The plant, on about 33.2 acres, is expected to begin commercial operations by mid-2027 and produce 100,000 metric tonnes annually. It will raise Kirby India’s total manufacturing capacity from 300,000 to 400,000 metric tonnes a year. The investment is designed to expand service for customers in Southern India and other markets.

Capacity Addition in Tamil Nadu

The facility will join Kirby India’s existing plants in Hyderabad, Haridwar and Halol, Gujarat. The company has operated in India for more than 26 years, with over 25 sales offices and more than 150 certified builders.

Kirby supplies pre-engineered steel buildings and structural steel solutions for industrial, manufacturing, commercial, warehousing, logistics and heavy structural applications. It reports completing more than 45,000 buildings in India, totaling about 50 million square meters of built-up area.

Service for Southern Customers

Kirby India said the added capacity will bring engineering and manufacturing resources closer to customers in Southern India. The company is continuing investments in engineering, automation, digital technologies and manufacturing capabilities for India’s industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Broader Engineering Offering

The Manapparai plant is intended to complement Kirby India’s existing manufacturing network, with the company positioning the expansion as part of a broader engineering and structural steel offering.
