Torchy’s Tacos Brings Nookies Back to Menus

Torchy’s Tacos has returned Nookies to its menu after a more than two-year hiatus. The fried chocolate chip cookie dough bites come with a new cinnamon-sugar finish. First introduced as Lil’ Nookies in 2008, the dessert was brought back following thousands of requests across social media, guest emails and reviews. The return arrives during the restaurant’s 20th anniversary year.

A Returning Dessert

Nookies are fried, gooey chocolate chip cookie dough bites tossed in cinnamon sugar. The original dessert became a fan favorite for its warm chocolate chip cookie dough center and golden-fried exterior.

Paul Macaluso, chief executive officer at Torchy’s Tacos, said:

November Menu Offers

Earlier this year, Torchy’s added nachos to its menu for the first time after years of guest demand. The restaurant also introduced Taco Two-Step, a deal inspired by requests for more value around combo meals. The deal is available for a limited time through Nov. 10.

For November, Torchy’s is offering the Rebel Yell Taco, with grilled shrimp, crispy bacon, cabbage slaw, jack cheese and guajillo fried onions, finished with smoky BBQ sauce and chipotle ranch on a fresh flour tortilla. Its Drink of the Month is the Pineapple Margarita, made with tequila, Grand Marnier, real pineapple puree and lime juice.
