XCMG Launches Hanjing Electric Heavy Truck
XCMG Hanjing electric heavy truck offers 800-volt charging and fleet tools for long-haul freight operators.

XCMG launched its Hanjing new energy heavy truck on Sept. 20 for long-haul, cross-regional freight. The truck uses an 800-volt architecture designed to charge its battery from 20% to 80% in under 20 minutes. XCMG says the model completed a 24-hour endurance test covering 2,198 kilometers at a gross vehicle weight of 49 tons. The launch adds a long-haul option to the manufacturer’s commercial vehicle range, alongside charging, connected fleet management and lifecycle services.
Built For Long Haul Freight
XCMG began developing the Hanjing in 2023, visiting freight hubs and working with large logistics companies on requirements for range, charging, efficiency and reliability. Its engineering work covered the electric powertrain, centralized thermal management, torque distribution and regenerative braking.
The truck has a low-drag cab, an integrated electric drive axle and intelligent controls intended to reduce energy consumption. A central domain controller, highway navigation-assisted driving and a digital cockpit are designed to support drivers on long-haul routes.
Fast Charging And Safety Systems
The Hanjing’s 800-volt system supports megawatt-class fast charging. Its body uses 1,500-MPa hot-stamped steel, while multiple battery thermal-protection systems are intended to improve vehicle and battery safety.
Before launch, the vehicle underwent extreme-heat, extreme-cold, high-altitude, water-fording and crash testing. The 24-hour Yancheng proving ground test put the truck through heavy-load operating conditions before its commercial introduction.
Fleet Tools And International Sales
XCMG offers charging infrastructure, connected fleet management and lifecycle services around the vehicle. Its connected-vehicle platform lets fleet operators monitor vehicle status and energy consumption, then plan vehicle selection and charging around routes.
From January through July 2026, XCMG ranked first in China for sales of new energy heavy trucks and new energy tractors, according to the company. It also reported holding the top nationwide position in new energy heavy-truck sales for three consecutive years. XCMG trucks are sold in Indonesia, Thailand, Guinea and other African markets.
Expanding Long Haul Applications
XCMG displayed new energy commercial vehicles and transportation solutions for construction and logistics at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Germany, ahead of the Hanjing launch. The company plans to adapt its products to local regulations, road conditions and operating practices as it expands new energy heavy trucks beyond fixed routes and short-haul use.
