Zum Invests in Philadelphia School Bus Yard
Zum invests in a Philadelphia school bus yard to support School District transportation services beginning in 2026-27.

Zum will lease and redevelop two adjacent Northeast Philadelphia properties as its home base for home-to-school transportation services with the School District of Philadelphia. The sites at 3740 E. Thompson Street and 2715 E. Butler Street will support service beginning in the 2026-27 school year. The company expects the investment to create hundreds of local jobs while expanding facilities, fleet operations, workforce development, and technology. Zum already serves more than 6,500 schools in 18 states.
New Operations Center
The two properties will become an operations and maintenance center with employee facilities, maintenance capabilities, and driver amenities. Zum said the centrally located yard will reduce employee travel time and support daily operations and future growth.
Vivek Garg, Chief Operating Officer at Zum, said:
“Philadelphia is more than a new market for Zum—it is a long-term partnership and a community where we plan to invest for decades to come.”
Hiring Local Drivers
Zum is hiring school bus drivers and attendants to serve students across the School District of Philadelphia. The company is seeking experienced drivers and people interested in starting a new career as Zum employees.
Property Partnership
Triten Real Estate Partners is supporting Zum’s move into the two Philadelphia locations.
Scott Arnoldy, CEO of Triten Real Estate Partners, said:
“We are excited to welcome Zum to 3740 Thompson Street, Philadelphia, PA 19137 and 2715 East Butler Street, Philadelphia, PA 19137 and to support their growth in the Philadelphia market. This is exactly the kind of long-term partnership we like to be a part of - helping a growing company find the space it needs to serve the local community.”
Supporting Student Transportation
Zum’s Connected Mobility Experience platform combines routing, dispatch, communications, safety, workforce management, and real-time operations. Districts using Zum during the 2025-2026 school year recorded an average 98% on-time performance, according to the company.
