First Citizens Bank has launched First Citizens Innovation Banking, a division serving technology, life science and healthcare companies in the U.S. and internationally. The bank also introduced First Citizens Fund Banking for its private equity and venture capital clients. First Citizens Innovation Banking was formerly Silicon Valley Bank’s Technology & Healthcare Banking division and has served the innovation economy for more than 40 years. Its launch is accompanied by a national campaign, “Where Silicon Valley Banks.”

New Brand For Innovation Clients

First Citizens Innovation Banking will provide tailored financial solutions and sector expertise to investors, startups and high-growth companies. The division operates in innovation centers throughout the United States and supports international companies with U.S. banking needs.

Frank Holding, Jr., Chairman and CEO at First Citizens Bank, said:

“Today marks an exciting milestone as we introduce First Citizens Innovation Banking. We are building on the legacy of Silicon Valley Bank and bringing greater scale and resources to make our platform even stronger. Investing in, and strengthening, this business remains a priority for First Citizens. We are committed to the innovation economy for the long term, and, as First Citizens Innovation Banking, we will continue to provide market leading solutions, services and insights our clients rely on to succeed.”

National Campaign Begins

The bank’s “Where Silicon Valley Banks” campaign will appear in digital, print and outdoor locations in selected innovation markets. First Citizens plans to feature the campaign at San Francisco and Los Angeles Tech Weeks, Money20/20 and HLTH during 2026.

Marc Cadieux, President at First Citizens Innovation Banking, said:

“Silicon Valley is more than just a region in California – it’s synonymous with innovation, entrepreneurship and growth. For decades, we have helped founders, entrepreneurs and investors build and scale industry-defining companies. Our business was purpose-built for the innovation economy, and that will continue. While our name has changed, our expertise, relationships and dedication to the innovation economy have not, which is why we are, and will continue to be, where Silicon Valley banks.”

Rebrand Creates Two Brands

The rebrand separates the former Silicon Valley Bank division into First Citizens Innovation Banking and First Citizens Fund Banking. The Silicon Valley Bank Wine Division has also rebranded as First Citizens Bank. Businesses can review details through the bank’s rebrand FAQ and client FAQ.
