Got Electric LLC, a Maryland electrical contractor, has been selected as one of three candidates in Mauloa’s 2026 SMB Accelerator. The three-month program gives the company access to guidance on working capital, marketing, company culture and practical artificial intelligence applications. Got Electric joins Maryland family-owned businesses Strategic Factory and AceCo in the cohort. The program concludes November 25, when one participating company is expected to receive an investment offer of $10 million to $30 million.

Growth Support for Contractors

Mauloa screened businesses across the Washington, DC region before selecting the three candidates. For Got Electric, the program comes as the company expands its electrical, commercial solar and energy-related work across Maryland, Virginia and the Washington, DC region.

Its services include commercial electrical work, commercial solar operations and maintenance, battery storage, electric vehicle infrastructure and residential electrical services. The company was ranked No. 92 nationally and No. 4 in Maryland on Solar Power World’s 2026 Top Solar Contractors List.

Grant Gotlinger, President of Got Electric, said:

“This opportunity is meaningful because it recognizes more than the projects Got Electric completes. It reflects the people, partnerships and investments in workforce development that have helped build the company. The accelerator gives us an opportunity to learn from experienced business leaders while continuing to strengthen the company our employees and customers depend on.”

Workforce and Community Investment

Got Electric has invested in apprenticeship and workforce-development initiatives for electricians and solar technicians. Apprentices receive paid field experience alongside licensed journeyperson electricians, while education partnerships in Maryland and Virginia connect classroom instruction with electrical and renewable-energy projects.

The company has also worked with Secure Solar Futures at Mountain Empire Community College in Virginia to link technical education with field experience on large-scale solar installations.

In 2026, Got Electric donated 57 surplus solar panels to Shenandoah County SEARCH Inc., a Virginia nonprofit serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and operating a community thrift store. Twelve panels are designated for SEARCH’s group home, where the planned system is projected to offset approximately 75% of the building’s electricity use. The remaining 45 panels are intended for its thrift store once installation funding is secured.

Investment Decision Ahead

The accelerator runs through November 25 while Got Electric continues serving customers and partners in its Mid-Atlantic service area. Mauloa says it typically invests $10 million to $30 million for a 30% to 40% ownership stake in middle-market companies, providing owner liquidity and working capital without debt.

Andrew Sachs, Founding Partner of Mauloa, said:

“Got Electric stood out because its culture is a genuine competitive advantage. In an industry where skilled labor is the biggest constraint on growth, Grant and his team are developing their own talent through paid apprenticeships and education partnerships, while giving back to their community along the way. Grant is a leader we like, trust, and admire.”

The potential investment decision will follow the accelerator’s completion in November.
