Harmoni has raised $10 million in Series A funding led by Bessemer Venture Partners and introduced HAL, an AI product for manufacturing teams at the point of production. Founded in 2023 by David Caputo and Adam Ellis, Harmoni provides a Factory Orchestration platform that connects operators, machines, engineering systems, and enterprise software. The company says the funding will support product development, go-to-market expansion, and work on HAL. For manufacturers, the platform is designed to reduce administrative work, improve process adherence, and provide real-time operational visibility.

Factory Floor Coordination

Harmoni organizes work at individual workcenters, giving operators one place to access the information and tools needed for a job. Its system combines automation, process control, and observability to connect fragmented workflows across the shop floor.

The automation layer uses RFID technology and machine-level workflows for tasks including labor tracking, ERP transactions, document retrieval, quality reporting, and support requests. The process control layer supplies documentation such as work instructions, machine programs, and checksheets. Its observability tools combine ERP, machine, operator, and RFID data into a real-time view of performance and root-cause issues.

Harmoni says customers have recorded more than 200 hours of productive time per operator per year through automations that remove administrative and other non-productive tasks. The company says its system can be deployed in weeks.

HAL Uses Operational Context

HAL is built on the operational data Harmoni captures across systems, machines, engineering documents, production records, and institutional knowledge. The product receives information about the active job, part, machine, process, and engineering requirements automatically, according to Harmoni.

The company positions HAL as a tool for helping manufacturing teams understand requirements, diagnose issues, identify risks, and determine next steps within production workflows.

David Caputo, Co-Founder at Harmoni, said:

“Harmoni was founded on the belief that manufacturers don't need another disconnected application - they need a system that helps work happen correctly, efficiently, and in real time. By bringing automation, process control, and observability together at the workcenter, we help manufacturers eliminate wasted time, prevent errors, and gain control over what is happening across the factory floor. This investment will allow us to accelerate the platform's development, expand our team, and bring Factory Orchestration to more manufacturers.”

Funding Supports Expansion

The Series A round gives Harmoni capital to expand its platform and team while taking Factory Orchestration to more manufacturers. The company is based in Akron, Ohio, and New York, New York.

Kent Bennett, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, said:

“Harmoni is building a new operational layer for manufacturing that connects people, machines, and systems across the factory floor. Customers are seeing meaningful value from the company's Factory Orchestration platform today, while the operational context Harmoni creates provides a powerful foundation for delivering AI directly into production workflows. We are excited to partner with David, Adam, and the Harmoni team as they build an important new category in manufacturing technology.”

What Manufacturers Can Consider

For manufacturers looking to reduce manual shop-floor administration, Harmoni’s offering combines work instructions, machine data, operator workflows, and enterprise-system transactions in one platform. HAL adds an AI layer intended to make that live production context available to frontline teams as they handle jobs and problems.
