Falvey Names Finance, Cargo and Board Leaders

Falvey Insurance Group has appointed Rob Bell as chief financial officer, Mike Edwards as chief investment officer and Julie Hencler as executive vice president, group finance. The company also added Max Reilly and Dylan Edelson as assistant vice presidents of cargo underwriting and named Kristy Furrer, senior vice president at Woodruff Sawyer, a Gallagher company, to its board. Bell started October 19, while Furrer joined the board earlier this year. The appointments cover finance operations, investments, cargo underwriting and board oversight.

Finance Leadership Changes

Bell brings more than 25 years of property and casualty insurance finance experience, most recently as chief financial officer of PMA Companies. Earlier, he led finance for a Travelers division that included inland and ocean marine.

Edwards joined Falvey in 2000 and had served as chief financial officer since 2003. Hencler has helped lead the company’s finance operations since 2005 and will run its day-to-day financial operations in her new role.

Cargo Underwriting Additions

Reilly and Edelson join Falvey’s cargo underwriting team with cargo and marine underwriting experience from global insurers. They will work directly with the company’s carrier partners and brokers on complex and fast-moving risks.

Board Appointment

Furrer brings more than 25 years of experience helping commercial clients understand and manage risk. She joined Falvey’s board of directors earlier this year.
