GEARWRENCH Adds Power And Utility Hand Tools
GEARWRENCH Power & Utility hand tools include more than 50 products developed with linemen for transmission and distribution work.

GEARWRENCH has entered the Power & Utility hand-tool category with a lineup of more than 50 products for power transmission and distribution professionals. The established hand-tool brand developed the range with working linemen and tested it in the field over several months. The tools span more than five product categories for underground, ground-level, and overhead work. GEARWRENCH will display the full lineup at Booth 811 during the International Lineman’s Rodeo in October 2026.
Built With Linemen
Utility crews face work involving capacity expansion, aging infrastructure, and grid reliability. GEARWRENCH used input from linemen across the country, with hundreds participating in product testing and field evaluation. The range includes oversized controls, glove-friendly features, safety mechanisms, and lineman-grade durability.
Tools For Utility Crews
Lineman ratcheting wrenches include nut stop technology, large bidirectional switches, and IEC 60900 isolated grips for energized connections. Compact ratcheting cable cutters use a one-hand blade release and Power Assist Mode, which reduces handle span by 40% to help limit hand fatigue.
Impact sockets and adapters use a nose-down design for clearance on hot line clamps, reinforced slots for high-torque applications, and a safe-failure adapter design intended to reduce injury risk if an overload occurs. GEARWRENCH also cites proprietary heat treatments, striking faces, solid steel shanks, and forged steel blades among the product construction features.
A Wider Tool Selection
The new range gives utility businesses and crews a dedicated selection of hand tools designed around modern linework. Buyers can explore the Power & Utility lineup online or view the products at the International Lineman’s Rodeo.
